On the bright side of things: one week until an important exam means you have 7 days to get your brain on board.

Not bad at all!

Chances are that you didn’t forget everything. Realistically speaking, you probably need to remind yourself of what you’ve covered in the past few months of studying. This is doable.

It will help if you focus on three areas:

  • Review study material
  • Take frequent breaks
  • Get enough sleep

Review the study material — and don’t waste time.

  • Go over the top-level concepts of the course material. To do this, you’ll skim over the chapters in your textbook (or notes if you have already written them). Skimming means glancing through, not going in-depth by reading full paragraphs.
  • While doing that, write (or draw) a basic outline of the main concepts and ideas of the material. Writing things down helps the brain consolidate…
